Can"t make it
Would like to but can"t make it happen.
I have fished there alot, and launched my boat from that beach many times. Landed a few big snapper from the end of the jetty at night.
Nice easy beach to get to and fish. Big flathead live in all the small gutters and lots of sharks at night. (lots of ray's too. lol )
Hope you guy's do well. Look forward to a report.
Cheers Grant.

Havent been there for a long time but we always got onto the beach using the track next to the jetty. It was the best option.

Pilch
They were probaly Pilch (yellow eye mullet ) can be fun to catch and not too bad to eat.
You need to use a burley ( pollard mix ) and small hooks with prawn or a dough bait works well.

Its been a while
It's been a long time since i fished there guy's. We used to fish in front of BP but they stopped access to this area. Thats when i started trying the power station beach ( as we call it ) . We would normaly chase heering and pilch and it was my fav spot to flick for flathead in any little gutter that forms.
Most sharks were caught at night in summer, but if we were chasing them i would go to the north end right next to the hot water outlets. Sadly i think access to this part of the beach is closed as well due to the desalination plant.
The beach there is very popular and gets flogged all the time. Use lots of burley and live baits will help to avoid most stingrays ( not always they take these too). If you have an easterly use balloons to get your baits out a bit further as it drops of nice and deep about 100 m out. Or you could slide bait to get extra distance and larger baits out. ( search slide bait )
We would get bronzies mostly and quite a few shovel nose, ( some very big ) . Alot of hours were put into this area with no results most nights, but if you do get any action usualy if one is around there are more in the area.
Hope this helps guy's , there are other areas to try as well, the beach at the grain jetty ( the big blue one ) can produce good mixed bags as well.
Cheers Grant
