Tagging fish

Can anyone educate me on tagging fish? What I was thinking is the following. I go out fishing and I release a lot of fish. Is there any sence in tagging the fish after measuring weighing and taking a picture for identification. Might as well do that whilst busy fishing so more info can be gathered in case someone else catches the same fish some time later. Can anyone tag fish, where do we get tags etc. etc. ?

best bet would be getting hold of fisheries. there are a few on here that tag fish tho, maybe one of them will read this

Really only worthwhile if
Really only worthwhile if there is a tagging program in place to process the data. Random bits of information without anyone specifically chasing and recording data is not really going to provide much of a picture.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?
