swan river bull sharks

hey all

i am looking to go for a fish in the swan river this weekend/saturday and i was looking at targeting bull sharks.

just want to know any good locations where you have seen or heard of bullsharks been caught ? i was thinking near shelley ?

also what baits and rigs to use, i was thinking of mullet fillets and scallies(tailor if i can catch) on 100lb wire?

any information would be appreciated !

cheers jack

A lot of Brissy guys fish for them in the Brisbane River and rate the smaller sharks for a cookup.  Normal dispatching conditions would apply I'd assume.

Around Herrison island

Was in the sunday paper a few weeks back, someone did a study and netted 3 bullsharks, one upto 1.1mt.  They think there could be a breeding area somewhere around there.

id assume like any shark live

id assume like any shark live bait will get the pickup mate.... if not i reckon heads or whole baits will last longer with all the crabs and pickers in the river.

whats the biggest ppl have heard of in the swan?

Balloon you baits out on the down wind side of the island to keep them up off the bottom and away from pickers. If there is a bitey there it will come up and to take it.

A few years back I saw a bull

Wed, 2011-03-02 12:58

A few years back I saw a bull shark in the shallows of the narrows so they've been there for a while. Would have been about 2m long. Also about 7 years ago was fishing with wire trace and something cut through it but never saw what it was.
