whiting
havent tried but there should be a heap of whiting around that beach, burly up and you might get some other small stuff coming in and probably a shovel nose shark or 2.

Camped on the steep point
Camped on the steep point beaches last week. Plenty of activity on dusk, should have no trouble catching bait. The soft plastics work a treat up that way, no bait required.

Boat towing
Out of curiousity, whats the largest trailer boat youve seen towed in there? Ive seen up to about 5 meter pressed tinnies-anyone seen bigger?
I imagine the track would give them a flogging?

Wow
I imagine itd be hard work towing through some of the sand? Like that first bit where the sign about the fine for not droppin ya tyres?
Reckon Id rather launch at Denham than flog the trailer in there with a heavy loaded boat (6M)?

Drive the boat from Denham, I
Drive the boat from Denham, I think it's more fun than driving in anyway..... We spent 10 days up there a few weeks ago. Wind wasn't great but still managed to get onto Macks, Wahoo, Rankin, Spangos, Pinkies, Tailor, Baldies and even a Dhuie...... Hope the weather plays ball for everyone heading up.

Baitfish
Drove Carnarvon sea rescue's new Naiad through there a fortnight back just after dark and there was millions of small mullet jumping out of the water in the searchlight beam as we came to the channel markers. Have never seen so many fish in the air at once for the time and distance travelling through the schools.
If you can get hold of a throw net your bait supply problems will be over.

Hey guys,
I'm heading from Kalgoorlie to Steep Point, I'll be staying at the Overlander Sunday night and towing my 5.0m CDM Ally in early Monday morning. We'll be camping and launching from the beach. I'll be in a Corefleet Dual Cab Hilux and my mate will be driving a dark blue Hilux king cab. Feel free to stop in and say hi.
