Our best colours are green,
Our best colours are green, pink and blue. We have mainly used a combination of cheap jigs however today we gave the Yozuri jigs a run and they did pretty well.

I use either Yo-Zuri or
I use either Yo-Zuri or Yamashita. most common colours i use depend on water clarity. Most jigs are made in countries with different water conditions. for example, yo-zuri make heaps of natural colour jigs to less intimidate the squid but water conditions in Japan are alot less stained then ours here, its crystal, so using natural is less intrusive. Using them here, not so good, stained waters and less jig visability. Stick to bright colours, pink and orange being most popular during day, or even a variety of both if you cant make up your mind. Also take into account the foil underneath the skin. As sundown is about to set and light becomes less, i've noticed that squid start to become timid so chosing a colour that isnt so bright has worked well, such as, green and blues. Also since most squid you may pick up is sitting below your jig before the chase, think of getting variety of colours on the bottom side of the jig as well as foil refraction colours. Remember not to only stick to the colour on top.
You get what you pay for so spending extra on quality jigs will improve catch rate. better colour choice, specific swimming actions and dive depth. Then all that's left is how you jiggy jig. Oceanside and Tackle Shack have good range of jigs.
Hope that helps, good luck on the Squidding.
