spear fishing

any body know were are any good spearfishing areas or reefs for snorkeling? preferably swimable from shore but also from a boat. also what sort of fish are around in those areas that are good eating

i know some good spots down south that i used to dive in me younger years but youl need to dive around 8 - 10m down - heaps of crays and abs and some nice fish as well (big skippy, queenies, blue groper etc)

gotta be careful around metro area cos there is a big marine park zone which (i think) stretches from mandurah to about ocean reef, and i dont think you're allowed to spear within 600m of shore.
im not 100% sure on locations and distances, but it does exist. someone will correct me no doubt.
