Sharks

Was diving out in 30 metre yesterday out from Garden Island and found a cray pot rope that had no floats on it. Gathered up the rope and flagged the pro down so he could pull it and attach new floats. Had a quick chat with him and he mentioned that he's been seeing heaps of sharks about. unfortunately we didn't see any on our dives. The floatless pot also had about a dozen crays in it.

Forgot to mention that there was also some outstanding Pink Snapper cathes on Thursday morning as well. Some great fish at the ramp at 7:00am with Pinkies over the 700mm mark.

Mate - good work. The pro

Mate - good work. The pro should have given you a couple of crays or a carton for your troubles.

Not many would have done the same

yeah Gully I expected him to

yeah Gully I expected him to throw some crays my way. We needed some because it was the first trip this year we didn't have a bag limit. I waited about 30 minutes holding the rope until he got in range to flag him down.

Anyway the fish gods will reward me for my kind efforts one day!

Yeah thats pretty poor form

Yeah thats pretty poor form if you ask me - those pots are worth a lot of cash especially with crays in them.

Least of all is definately worth a carton.

haha...tight arse crayfisherman, yeh should of done the righty Daryl. The pinkys have been active with plenty of crays walking and baited up pots berlying up the pinks! A few Freo cray customers of mine said the same re sharks, plenty of bronzies in particular!

Buzzing!

Tue, 2008-12-23 11:09

Just had a customer that was diving on FFB recently and it was his first dive. Him & his buddy went down in 18m of water and his mate plucked a cray then he (customer) looked over his shoulder and slightly above was a big 4m GW (pointer) He said it stayed around for 10-15 min then took off. He told me this story after wanting to get a Shark Shield.........Foot in mouth
