Went for a fish late arvo on the incoming tide. Only had 1 hit and landed it . Few nice feeds on the way but not sure of species it Is. Have got them before so I know the taste is good .

Yeah pirate it was blowing about 20 knots. Been blowing its ass off for the last month or so still beats sitting at home

Don't actually know, as you said from experience and having had an interest in identifying what we caught and where we got them. One look and bang its there
Had an unidentifiable one that wasn't in any of my books so contacted shark research and they asked if we could get a sample and bring it down when we were next down south. So doing like all who love a laugh , we stuck this 2.5 metre shark in the freezer and kept it with us till we came down for maintenance and survey to present to them. Imagine travelling up West Coast hwy in a troopy with half a metre of sharks tail poking out the door, we carried it into reception and asked to see Rory and we had a gift for him. It turned out to be a deformed spinner shark and not so big a mystery after all.

Black tip eating?
I always see small black tips swimming the shore line and have been done by a few, obviously not fishing the right gear. Are they any good on the chew if I actively try and catch one?

Blacktips aren't bad on the
Blacktips aren't bad on the chew at all. Main thing is kill and bleed straight away like any other fish but must be gutted and put on ice asap. Usually I have it done within 5 minuits of capture. No need to cut the fins off. Just gills and tail to allow the blood to flow better
