Hey all
went up to Jurien for day ten days and went out on seasport
We started off with some bottom bouncing
Straight away I was hooked, just a small dhuie
next drop I was on and it was a big dhuie
Unfortunatley dropped him on the way up
seconds later my mate hooked up and landed a 12kg Dhuie
Throught the moring we caught two Baldies, a 6kg sambo and a blackarse
Things got quiet so we went to the fads and others got a 4kg mahi mahi and a 8kg one
overall was a great day and we will be heading bck up soon
a big thanks to Whitey Alexangler

Curiousity got the better of
Curiousity got the better of me last year and I tried one (already used three others for bait that day - they love to eat themselves - lol) and like Just1morecast said, I found it really good eating. I rate it up there with Blackarse. Problem is definately too many bones though. I really hate bones when I'm eating fish so by the time I cut them all out, there wasn't much of a fillet left on either side but enough for a good taste.

I would never put one in an esky, they smell like something died in their guts. Just cut a slab off and then throw it over!

Yeah but that might have been the only fish that person caught for the day and they're meant to be pretty good eating too aren't they? I've never tried them myself.

dolphin fish are delicious
no good frozen though. Good idea is to share around with those a bit light on in the esky so they are not wasted.

Sorry mate I beg to disagree,
Sorry mate I beg to disagree, have you eaten Mahi Mahi from the freezer, my expieriences of eating frozen mahi have been very pleasing. Dont get me wrong, fresh is always best however I have eaten plenty of mahi from the deep freeze and found it top knotch. How you treat your fish from the capture point on wards will always determin the longevity of it
