Stick with the Certate man, its a really good reel. Otherwise a Stella 4000 or even a Satliga 3500 game would be mint :)

pe1 = 10lb, pe2 = 20lb,

pe1 = 10lb, pe2 = 20lb, pe3=30lb and so on..but the pe system is used for line diamater, so for example a cheap sunline super p.e 2 is 20lb, but if your willing to spend more money on quality braid, a good braid is the saltiga hyper p.e 2 35lb, so basically its 35lb braid at a 20lb diamater.

yes i have both the game and stella fd, honestly i think that the stella is slightly superior..thats why have 2 of them lol, more drag, over 100g lighter and feels smoother. i still do like the saltiga game but i dont think its quite as good, im looking to get rid of one of my stella's to purchase a 3000 branzino, i heard there quite good and im interested to see how they peform.

nah havent played with the new one, but i have read a review on it and it did state that the smoothes was the same as the fd, as far as performance goes i think they only did a few minor changes. here read this.

http://www.breammaster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29080&highlight=new+stella

whilst it is a bit better, you have to ask yourself if it is worth the extra $200-$300 or so.

i use mine for almost everything, beach fishing, spinning small lures, light bottom bouncing and light jigging.

Stella FD vs FE

Sat, 2010-09-18 17:15

Yes it is 200-300 more for the Stella FE but the FD were up in that price range when they first came out. So obviously being the outgoing model, prices have reduced.

Yes hard to justify the new model over the FD but the minor changes are enough to be major. They've increased the main gear and pinion size, as well as an extra bearing to support the stainless steel worm shaft. This makes it less effort required for the rotation of the gears.
