Few tough ones..Ive gone the bombers after last week...sticking with Adelaide Just...and thinking Freo will get home in a tight wet weather game.

Only reason you would go to Freo is because your guaranteed to have September off
Both McGovern and Gaff have said that team success is important and to be 100% honest with Rolph Lyon as Freo coach they wont have any success any time soon.
McGovern wants a longer contact than 5 years that's the only sticking point with him staying with the Eagles. My gut feel is Eagles will give in and offer him the 6 that he wants.
Gaff I think will leave as he has been offered $800 - 900 at Melbourne clubs and he isn't on that much at the Eagles and rumour is the Eagles don't want to offer than much.
As for this week I think theres going to be a few upsets

I would be happy to see Freo
I would be happy to see Freo goto the trade period and throw big money and long contract offers at the big key forwards / key position and rucks on the market. Mcgovern, lynch, lobb, or hogan (i these last two have another year on their contracts).
Our defence has taken shape with many years in front of them to develop into one of the competitions best.
Our mids are already at that level and the youngsters coming through will only compliment that. I reckon before season end we might see blakely move in there and fyfe go forward.
What we desperately need is one ir two quality tall forwards. Taberner looks like he is ready to step up and his injury was really unfortunate timing. We need another to take the focus off mccarthy. Watch for apeness and darcy to come back in two play those ruck / key forward roles.
A big forward capable of clunking some marks will straighten up the midfield delivery.
I dont think freo are that far off getting the team right, then its just a matter of implementing the game plan week in week out anywhere in australia.

Perfectly put Boon. Gaff is an A grader but there are many more like him in the league who do a solid job week in week out but aren't game breakers. If Cripps wants to come back to WA as is being reported then Gaff + our first pick might just get it done.

Dont judge freo at optus stadium as you would judge them at adelaide oval, scg or in canberra. Freo worst result at optus is an 8 point loss to the eagles.
They are a completely different team at home. If it were north vs the eagles at optus would north start favourites?
Also think about the weather forecast. The roos have got a very tall forward line. That may haunt them in the wind and rain. Expect a very low scoring game.
