RED SHIRTS
Submitted by Jody on Fri, 2010-07-16 14:42
Just wondering - Since the reopening of the fishing season in the Metro area in January, has anybody been interviewed as part of a Creel Survey.
Apparently Fisheries are doing one for the current year, but I have not seen one Red Shirt at the ramps NOR or SOR in the past 7 months
Anybody else ??

yeh - couple times
at Kalbarri a few days running - could only tell him each time that we had caught JACK SH*T!!! hahaha
also at woodman's point twice. so they are out there a little bit.
tell ya what - if me and my mates are overrepresented in this survey that could spell tighter restrictions coz we don't catch much! hahaha.

There has been
a few down at the Public Ramp and CPBA ramps at Woodie Point, in the warmer months after January of this year, but everytime we've been down there in the last 2 and half months no.

I am going to get in trouble for saying this BUT
I comstantly get approached by them at Mindarie and always in the past have co-operated with information.
Now unfortunately my reply is sorry I know its not your fault in any way but I decline to participate. Its my personal choice not to provide information as all it has rewarded me with is restrictions and licence fees.

Craig J I am with you on this..
The more we tell them we caught nothing or we got our bag limit the more rules they will put into place...
I can't see how the info they gather will help the average fisho's plight...

Yes the questions they ask..
As if your going to grid your lumps it wont be factual information on that front..
Though last time i got asked he couldnt tell me if a certain species was protected or not
..
Gotta love fisheries web site to solve it!
