just returned from carnarvon and i can say it blew its box off everyday while we were there. we tried to get out to the blowholes for some trolling but wind picked up quickly and water temp @ 16°c probably wasnt ideal for macks. caught a few small shark mackerel tho. s***load of mulloway up at the carnarvon jetty tho.

Windy Season

Tue, 2010-09-21 09:09

The windy season has started with a bang. You may find thay you won't even get the boat off the trailer let alone catch a mackie from it. Expect 18-23 knots SE turning 20-25 kn SW every day. Unless they get a big cold front coming though down south of a trough forming on the coast its not going to change.

The jetty is a good back up with some good fish being caught, the river mouth has been showing some golden trevs, tailor and Miaboolia beach lots of small sharks.

I'd be making

a hasty change of plans mate. Wind forecast looks shocking. Nothing ruins a fishing trip more than wind.

Talking to a mate up at Cape

Tue, 2010-09-21 17:10

Talking to a mate up at Cape Preston yesterday and he said it was blowing hard and was expecting it to be doing the same for the next week. Hopefully it doesn't push against me too much as I'm heading up to Dampier this Saturday and starting my drive back home with the car I bought for up there on the Sunday and Monday.

Cheers
Dale

You could always cancel the Trip mark and come back to Work and let the big boys catch all the Fish.

Good luck Mate.

P.S I seen you giving me the Bird on the bus going to the airport on flyout day.
