Pinkie on Halco Twisty
Submitted by Fisheagle on Sun, 2014-03-30 22:19
Mate - Nic and I were chasing Tuna that were smashing bait fish at Stragglers Reef. I tossed a Halco Twisty into the school of Tuna and set the hook on a positive take. After a short fight and anticipation of my first Tuna, I was surprised to find a 66cm Pinkie with the treble firmly hooked in it's mouth. I did not expect to find a Pinkie hunting amongst the Tuna.

Holy shizen, close to the surface too, awesome
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Thanks mate.
But that picture is sooo clear.
What camera was used. More my photomad stepson asking than me using a simple compact all the time.

Nikon 3000D
I use a Nikon 3000D which is set on "Auto" most of the time. I do not have time to figure out settings when fishing, I want the fish snapped, released and my lines back in the water in double quick time - ready for the next fish. Where I missed out on the correct setting on the camera, Lightroom allows me to correct when I get home. Hope this helps.

Tah mate. Have to admit I hardly ever bother with photos fishing because I want to get back in and at them.

Still on bucket list
Unfortunately not - still on my bucket list. Need to figure out how, where, when etc. We just happened to see the birds and decided to investigate. We ended up with fish-fever and by the time we got going the Tuna were long gone! Next time we will be better prepared. Been fishing for most my life and still get fish-fever when the bite is on.
