Assuming it's the 3D vision
Assuming it's the 3D vision tranny. On my boat I had to mount it quite high so it skims the water (i.e. parallel with the hull). Too low and it lost bottom. I put on a mounting plate so I could move it around without drilling new holes into the boat. Took a few tries but got it dialed in with a slight downward tilt.

Really easy to use
I haven't used my Axiom 7/Axiom Pro 9 in anger yet--hopefully this weekend--but seem very intuitive and easy to use. I'll be trying to instal the big RV 100 this Friday afternoon, only got the B175M in so far. Being able to do updates over the net is sooo easy--just give it your WiFi password, connect, and it does the rest. Check that it has Lighthouse 3.4.xx installed, yours may be 3.3 or even 3.2 depending on how long it has been on the shelf.
And yes, a 12 on the dsah of a swifty would be a little big

Love the Axiom
Great unit to use and very easy install. Having the locking nut sections seperate for the transducer and power cables sure helps with running them, can go through much smaller holes. Transducer bracket solid and easy to fix. Just dont drill the last hole / screw fix until you are absolutely happy with the height adjustment - I used mine 4 or 5 times before i drilled the last hole, its never moved once even flat out. Because I went into a blade fuse holder I dropped to 5A fuse instead of the 7A round inline fuse that came with it and have had no issues. I'll get around to putting a 7A on it one day.
Cheers,
Disco.
