went on a charter double headers before sunrise luckily we bagged out by 9 AM cause after that they shutdown, also skipper said when you catch  green eyes suggests ur close or just past ,our ledge was AT 250 - 300m.

green eyes

green eyes are like blowies out there, dropping baits will have them around in no time, the trick is sound well,

get your drift, drop perfect so you drop on the fish, big deep ledges are usually harder than the shallower deep slopes that hold GB and puka,

having the sounder set up perfect is also a must, takes some time to get this right,

were you fishing north or south mate? i used to spend hours/days/weeks sounding the deep depths , love it,

somedays the fish were going off but yes they can just shut down instantly

most of my deep drop was south but have fished rotto once , reece was the skipper,

we sounded for hrs until we finally nailed the honey hole, landing some monster blue eye,

im always keen for a deep drop if you ar elooking for deckies , have all gear etc obvious chip in costs

but good luck tomorrow mate

Can you get a decent image to sound (deep) with a 585 with 1kw through hull (M260)?

I havent got mine dialled in yet, but am keen to get out and give it a try.
