New cray rules

apologies if I have missed this already being posted, as I have shithouse internet cover up where I am.

New storage rules for lobster, you can tail and store at home now.

They freeze WAY better this way for me, no discolouration of the flesh

Store in a much better condition with no loss of meat due to dis colouration of the flesh near the head.

Common sense finally prevails

Now for a couple of other changes:

1. 1 Dhufish for each boat fishing licence, regardless of number of licensed fishers on the boat
2. Remove Red Snapper, Swallowtail, Pigfish, Foxfish and Emperors (except Red Emperor) from Demersal Finfish category

so if you have 8 people fishing

Mon, 2016-10-17 04:34

on your boat you should be able to keep 8 dhufish??

or if you are on a charter boat they should be able to keep 22 dhuefish? if there is 22 passengers onboard.

That would be going backwards as you could potentially wipe out whole schools.

 not 8 people, 8 licences.How

Mon, 2016-10-17 10:45

 not 8 people, 8 licences.
How many take 8 people on?

And whats the difference between 8 on one boat and 8 on 2 boats?

Agree though that a boat limit should be in place but 2 is not enough considering the perils of releasing fish by most people

The proposed changes of one

The proposed changes of one per licence up to 3 per boat will be perfect IMO

 Yep common sense Rob, You

Yep common sense Rob, You wouldn't even comfortably fish 4 blokes on an 8m job. The limit needs increasing to one per licence and boat limit of 4. With the way it is with the wind and weather and the ban etc most people are lucky to get out a reasonable amount of days per year anyway. Then you have to find the bangers, they don't generally school up like mentioned above unless you're on an eldorado bit of reef system like the Abrohlos.

Practical limits

Tue, 2016-10-18 17:38

I often fish 4 on my boat, and that's really a practical limit on a trailerable boat, so I'd be happy with a boat limit of 4. Leave charter boat limits alone I reckon
