I am a simple rec fisho, scientist by trade, no political affiliations or membership.
I just enjoy fishing with my eight year old as I did with my dad. My fishing is mainly done in NSW, but I love wetting a line in WA when visiting my sister, I joined this site to get a feel of some spots I may be able to try when visiting.
I am a swing voter and greatl concerned even alarmed at what is happening and want to get as much info out there to see if we can make a difference. I don't care how people vote that is everyones personal decision, but would hope there can be a common sense fishing voice in the mix.
It would seem some of the info you're representing is a little incredible though, that whole made up thing about sex party and the greens? Do you really think it helps?
At least half of the problem with the present "debate" is that both sides are busy making up unreasonable bullcrap about each other there is no actual discussion.
Fair enough, happy for the mods to remove that post, it was a poor attempt at lightening up the discussion. Although the Greens were preferenced in their top half in most states.
"At least half of the problem with the present "debate" is that both sides are busy making up unreasonable bullcrap".
Can you pls provide documented evidence from reputable sources that support your claim of "at leat half" so that others can be satisfied this statement is not your opinion. Just joking Till.
totally agree till. both sides are too busy giving crap to the other side to even make their own policies clear.
Also a lot of the adds bagging out the other side seem to lack substance. I mean the add above mentions restrictions, but doesnt really show how these restrictions would change things for the averadge rec.
I wish i could say most Aussies would go to the trouble of finding out for themselves, but that might be overly optimistic. Im starting to feel like ive wasted a heap of time trying to look more closely at policies over the last couple of weeks, even on the parties own pages the information given is generally pretty vague.

Unfortunately positive campaigns don't win elections
and negative ones do. We are just going to hear more of the same.

as long as people keep
as long as people keep listening to pointless negative campaigns, yep we probably will
If people start putting in the effort to make an informed decision though, things might change
