We have it at work. Metro is only about 10 days old but regional areas are usually a lot older as they just use Google Earth images. Some towns have more detail but it differs a lot.
Where are you looking at? I might be able to help if you PM me the details.
I use it at work too. Saved me many a site visit or digging back through old budgets. Some months they update it 2x sometimes they skip a month but it's pretty regular but as mentioned about the resolution and regularity for regional areas isn't great
The main reason i initially posted was to try and find all the exploration camps up north we build because google earth must have been paid off by the big mining companies not to have good res on the areas they drill/mine etc....
As soon as you attempt to zoom in on an area where there has been activity up there you cant see a thing, I guess thats the main reason i wanted it but i like to sticky beak all over the place looking for places out of the way to fish/camp/surf etc etc....
Feel free to PM me your work log in details lads :)
You can definitely get google to alter what you can see. I was doing some work with a jewish school and the entire section of street it's on is unavailable to be viewed on google street view and it's a normal suburban street.
I use nearmap to look for sections of reef for beachfishing and have even been able to identify boats anchored on the 3 Mile bwahaha.
