After fish for 4 hour in the 200mtrs without catching anything . we went into the 40s and got his only catch of the day but what a catch for a kid

eating cuttlefish now
I am eating cuttlefish for tea, i have not had one in years,,i caught it off Palm beach with 3 squid on my kayak,,,Man are those things chewy or what ? i will have to look into this soak it in milk caper first tip i heard a while back and/or learn some new recipes.

You must slice it thin and cook it fast . We just dust it lighly in flour and cook it in a mix of butter and oil for about 2 mins if that, comes out tender or cumbed and deep fried for about 20 seconds but the trick is cut it thin.

Dean, no i don't believe i over cooked it, around one minute each side.
Russ, thats what i did wrong i am sure of it, some pieces were as thick as a steak, thanks for the tip.
Does anybody soak squid,cuttly in milk ? i have never tried it myself, makes it more tender i was told,,cheers,,,

just cut it thin, saves wasting time anf effort, never had to do either in milk before

best for taste
i find the best way to cook it is cut thin dust in flour and cook jn a bit of butter for 20 to 30 secs always tossing around so as not to stick to pan tastes great and nice and tender
