Murion islands
Submitted by Rodrat on Fri, 2007-09-28 11:50
Hello fellow fishing addicts,
I will be traveling to exmouth early next year, (towing a boat) and was thinking
about taking a trip out to the murion islands.
Has anyone been to the islands and is it worth the trip?
Is there anything different to catch at the islands than what you can get locally,
say at tantabiddi or in the gulf?
Thanks

Muiron Islands
Headed out from Emouth Marina and it's a good 45 minute ride out to the closest Island (depending on how it blows)...
It's an awesome spot and plentiful...
It's interesting how the currents, winds and swell play with your boat ride as the gulf is continually filling or emptying its basin around a felly sharp cape, coupled with some swell and a blow-it's a bit of fun!
Once you're out there, it seems to lull off beautifully! Some nice lumps approx. 1Nm west of the closest Island . Also great for trawling if you want a few Spaniards too.
Damn long drive for 10 days, but an excellent place to be nonetheless.
The fishing tackle shop (I think it's Bluewater) up there has some great people that owner/operate it and almost fall over themselves to assist-I had a good experience with them and can highly recommend!
Good luck and enjoy!
