Mulloway in the Swan

I have done some searches for this but came up empty.

My brother has come to me today suggesting we do an allnighter in the Swan to get a Jewie (read Mulloway, bloody NSW-man). He saw some pics and he is now all keen. I know that these species are not as simple as throw a bait and wait, so I am after a little help on the where. He talked to someone who anchors in the Freo port (it sounded like he tied off to a marker!!!) and floated live baits around and got some.

Any advise or direction on tide, moon, depth, bait, location, rigs, tackle would be awesome.

Always had good luck this time of year in the past on the north bank of the river between the Narrows bridge and old brewery. In the morning on a outgoing tide using fresh or live bony herring(they will be harder to catch than the mulloway)

Good luck

Thanks people. Sounds like I may have missed the prime time, but we will have to pack some beer to pass the time. Sounds like I have to get my hands on some tide and moon charts.

Will report back with the aniticipated photos of an empty esky.
