Gone all out on a new Garmin sounder (550c run-out model). Impressive specs....

- 5 inch screen
- 500 W of power
- 120 degree 77k Hz cone for maximum coverage in shallow water.
- 60 degree 200 kHz for pin point accuracy (at least in 3m of water....)
- $220.

Interestingly, Airmar is now coming out with mega wide cone, mega cost transducers.......this baby has 120 degree cone which should mark some great arches, even on plankton......time to bin the 2 x 10 inch screens and new thru hull narrow beam deep drop transducer setup and replace with this little package.....haha.....should go great on the 3m polycraft up at Tamala Station.
