Any of you Lowrance experts know how to add to your charts an area such as a marine sanctuary, besides just adding it as a plotted course?

waypoints
Only way i know is waypoints/marks. If a no go zone is not marked would it not be up to the map manufacturer to recode maps or yourself to update your unit.

With out meaning to hijack thread, in relation to how old is the card, how do you go about updating card? is it as simple as going to navionics and putting the card into your laptop?

Pretty much that easy, but
Pretty much that easy, but make sure you get lubed up first before they bend you over for your "update".
From memory it was around $200 to update a $300 Navionics chart card.
When I queried the price politely, I was told it was due to "royalties" which is plainly a lie.
Notices to Mariners are provided to seafarers on a cost recovery basis, what it costs to provide them to you.
