Lowrance fuel meter calibration
Submitted by LandyAndy on Sun, 2014-01-26 18:50
Anybody had any luck calibrating a Lowrance fuel flow meter on a HDS 9????
Full 100lt tank, sensor measured 80lt when pumping it out via an electric pump.
I followed the on screen prompts,it doesnt seem to go past the info box.
I will admit I havent told the HDS that I have filled the tank yet,its siting empty on my workshop bench.Perhaps you can only calibrate if the HDS THINKS its got a full tank????

as a instro
it will need to know when its empty and full you really need to do a 4 point cal if you want any accuracy

a four point cal
I could actually do you a four point cal with out you putting any more fuel in your boat based on the amount of fuel already have on board

Fuel Flow
Is this the fuel flow meter, not tank gauge?
I calibrated mine on a HDS7 without any problems.
Its been a while, but I filled the tank and zeroed the fuel used.
After Id used 100 liters or so, I filled the tank and did a recalibrate, where you enter the amount of fuel used (from the fuel bowser). This is a bit of an iterative process, so it took 3 or 4 fills before it was reading accurate, but it now accurate to around 1 liter over 100-150 liters of fuel used.
