Looking for a Letter
Submitted by Tradewind on Mon, 2017-01-16 13:44
Hey Guys & Gals,
Looking for a big favour from someone
Grandfather passed away late last year and as part of his last requests he wanted me to have his favourite shotty.
We have a small property but it's not quite big enough so I really need a letter from someone with over 100 acres so I can proceed with the licence and transfer
I have heard 10 acres is big enough but the gentleman handling the transfer used to head up that Department suggested for a mostly trouble-free transfer that over 100 acres is best
No stranger to firearms (Ex Club member) but I wouldn't put it on a club sponsored licence for obvious reasons
Thanks!

25 acres is what WAPOL use as
25 acres is what WAPOL use as their guide for shotguns. Or 5-10 acres for marginal requirments.
But yeah obviously wouldnt get to many hassles with 100 acres on the application.
But even someone with +25 acres should be able to help you out.
Unfortunatly i dont own land that size so cant help you out.
But in a pinch you can go to any Gun Store in Perth and they can usually facilitate you getting a letter from a property, but usually at a cost. Think Ella Vella station up north was doing property letters? Might be worth hitting them up directly?
