Submitted by Caza on Sun, 2011-09-04 18:44
G'day guys I was wondering if anyone on here is into hunting I've been trying to get into it been out a few times on mates of mates of mates property's after Roos ,foxes ,and rabbits and was curious to know if anyone is into it aswell? The hardest part I've found is trying to get a signature to allow me to get my license my dad has a couple of shotguns but isn't into hunting and won't let me take em out by myself he's asked a few of his mates but haven't had any luck yet. If anyone was keen to help me out im always very safe and very serious about safety I use to work at the swanbourne rifle range and a scorer and also at WAGC ( western Australian gun club ) as a trapper and will take them out on my boat any day of the week any time if they could be of any assistance I'm always 100 percent safe and 100 percent humane if anyone can help us out shoot us a pm
Cheers guys
Mark

if you become a member of a
if you become a member of a gun club that will allow you to get your licence without getting permission to hunt from a property owner. Have a look at getting into clay target shooting its good fun and great practice!

The problem with this is that you can only shoot the rifles/shotguns at the range your license doen't allow you to hunt on private land. WA has the strictest Firearm licensing laws in the State.

Law
Your breaking the law having them in Wa without a temporary permit and a letter from a property owner saying you can shoot on there property.

Thought about it
I looked in to getting everything changed over a month or so ago. but all the bullshit that comes with it and the fact that i will only be here for a few more months I knocked it on the head pretty quickly!

Does anyone know if there are
Does anyone know if there are any businesses in WA that organise pig hunting?
Very keen to get into some, but don't have a rifle anymore, so would need a company that provides rifles and the area on which to use them. I know there are a lot of wild pig ranches in the US that focus on this, but havent heard of anything similar here.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Hey Dan. Cant remember the name of the station but up near Kalbarri there is a station on the murchison river somewhere thar offers pig hunting safaris. Good number of pigs up that way too, i have been on a private property up that way and we got good numbers. They smash all the wheat crops then go back and hide in the National Park. But like Big John said, if you want bookoo amounts of pigs head to the NT or north QLD.

Thanks, will have a look
Spent a fair bit of time on Google and all I can dig up in WA is this mob http://www.angelfire.com/biz5/huntingas/
So have sent them an email
If anyone is keen to get together a Fishwrecked safari for a trip out there, I'll provide more info when I hear back
Dan
Edit - seems that mob has shut down, my email bounced back, so not really any options in WA I can find.
Dead keen if anyone in WA wants to let me join them for pig hunting on their property, am sure I could contra with some fishing trips on the boat!

Hunt Australia
Have a look at Hunt Australia. It is ran by a guy named Matt Graham, He used to write alot of articles in the sporting shooter mag (good bloke)
My mate used to be a guide for them at there Arhnam Land camp site. We went there a fair few years back and had the time of ours lives for 2 weeks driving around spottin buff and masssive pigs and filling in the arvos fishin for barra in the river that backs onto the camp. Matt was also a fishing guide in NSW in the wet season so he knows his stuff.
Just an option for ya.
