Heading out this arvo/tonight for some Pink action!

Hey all, am new here so be gentle with me!

Am heading this arvo (07/09/12) in search of some good pinks. Am tossing up Cockburn Sound or Warnbro Sound. Any thoughts on where is best at the moment?

Cheers!!

i take out the 19 foot penguin and if its too rough we take the berdie 25 last year we were fishing in 35 knots only boat on the water even the tug boats were heading to garden island for shelter!! its the best time to fish if you can handle the rough! back when i was younger we would take out a 12 foot tinny in twenty knots! but we would sit behind a big boat on the way home into the waves!

the amount of rope i put out

Fri, 2012-09-07 20:47

in the bay i usually go double the lenght of how deep it is as theres no swell but when its rough a will put out triple. also making sure you have the right gear to actually anchor! too many boats go out there and cant anchor up without drifting! before i had the sarca on the anchor winch i had a stainless steel sand anchor that weighed 10kg we made it ourself with 1.5 metres of 14mm stainless chain!  very hard to pull it up but it never drifted!

I got a 18ft Stacer SeaRunner

Fri, 2012-09-07 13:35

I got a 18ft Stacer SeaRunner Cuddy Cab so should be all sweet. I was hoping this wind would back off a touch but it doesn't look like it will so Cockburn it is. More places to hide in a howling SE!

Cheers lads.

3 mile

Sat, 2012-09-08 20:02

just in and what a glorious arvo/evening. No snapper keepers , many bubs , tarwhine and a few kg's (50 - 60cm)

Bit slow out there, lost a few rigs around some caves a bit deeper out.

stayed out till dark in hope of some size pinkeye but not to be.

Ditto 3 mile, same as us.

Ditto 3 mile, same as us. Came in at midnight and it was great conditions hugging the coast back to pt perron ramp. Caught a pretty good sized hang over that's for sure!!

But as they say a poor days fishing beats a great day at work any time!!

On the plus side big ups to Freo tonight!!!
