Having problems using the gps. Has anyone used this make or own one? Currently in W.A. cannot find anybody clued up on the unit. Even the distributors have problems. Considering using it as a sea anchor!

I don't have one, but you could check this site for a downloadable PDF instruction book. That probably doesn't help, but worth a look if you are missing the instructions.

Thanks Andy have the book, but not enough info and the unit very much user unfriendly. Friends have tried working it who have their own, just waiting on one last change.

Dawes crayfishing family
Greg, I knew the Dawes family from Wedge Island/Lancelin about 10 years ago, Laurie, Fran, Colin, Ivan etc. Not sure if they fished Australind back in the 60's, could be the same folk though. Very nice family.

Small world
I suppose you know the Catchpoles and a few of the boys from Lancelin, Jungle, the reverand, animal, etc etc.
I only know them all because I was their bank manager for several years in the 90's, I used to treck up to Wedge and Lancelin to see the guys and every year I would go to the Lancelin end of season bash, it was brilliant, Raunchy Girls, Burbon & coke and a heap of crayfish on the barbie. Magic times.
I havent seen Colin or Laurie in over 10 years I reckon. Lovely people.
