Gear storage @ home
Submitted by HuggyB on Tue, 2009-09-01 17:37
I've been looking at tidying up my gear that seems to be strewn from one end of my house to the other. I have a couple of rod racks but they are full to the point of overflowing and I have nothing as such for storing my reels (14, soon to be 16, 17 if I have a fit of madness).
I'm lucky enough that I can donate an entire room just to fishing gear (rods, reels, tackle, fly vice, tying gear etc).
Can people post me up some pics of how they store all their gear at home. I have a few ideas, but I'd really love some creative inspiration!

Suspended wine glass racks
Work brilliantly for storage of reels and use space at the top of cupboards which would otherwise often be be wasted. Made my own rod racks where they all stand vertically so as to avoid any "sets"........Howards Storage World is worth a look

Will be placing some insulation above during summer.

Russ and Sandy's rod racks
I bought one of those and it is chockers with my meager stock of rods. Mind you I don't boast the arsenal that Andy and few others do. My biggest problem is organisation and stowage of riges etc. I am fuggin useless at that. The only time I get serious about organisation is when I have the itch to go for a serious fish. The wife always knows when that is happening as I get a bit clucky and spend a lot of time on the patio making stuff.

Rod Racks
I have one of those rod racks next to my PC desk and the rest of my gear in a couple of big plastic storage boxes. Wish I had more gear....

I use postal tubes too but thick ones as the light ones brake if they get wet. I always rinse them off before storing too to get rid of the salt.
