Gear selection advice.
Hi guys,
My G/F has let me plan a quick getaway for the 2 of us next year and to my pleasure she has agreed on a 5 night stay at eco beach, We are going to be there mid april. I know what fish to expect however im asking advice on rods and reels to take up as my partner will have a hard time holding onto a 10000 sw at full drag.
I currently have a luvias 2500, a saragosa 5000 and this week ill be attaining a stella 10000sw, so more than likely ill be looking at a 4000 size reel and possibly 2 rods, one to suit the 2500 and one for a 4000 size reel. If any one has any suggestions on rods that will match and that ill be able to use throwing lures for hours please post it up.
ill also need some ideas on lures to be using in the creek as that is a whole new world to me.
Thanks
Jeremy

dasho - didnt really think
dasho - didnt really think of budgets. $400 for rod is usual price, I would be happy with the Ci4 or even a certate. the lures will probably be at the $300 mark.
lures are easier to hide than 2 rods and a new reel i can buy a couple lures a week, considering she hasnt seen the luvias and doesnt know about the stella i think that is a good option.

Dasho's Sidekick!!
Rod - $400 x 2?
Reel - $900?
Lures - $300?
Is this your budget or is that your credit card limit??lol
Plenty of rods to choose from, depends on what line class you want to run??
For the 2500, Im assuming no more than 10lb?? Then we suggest the new Pflueger Patriach XT, their newest top of the line rod without the pricetag.
At well under $300 it represents great value.
Another to check out is the Pflueger Supreme, American topshelf blank with top shelf components and Fuji's Titanium single leg SiC. At $299rrp its a bargain.
Reels.... check out the Daiwa Caldia 3000 (Shimano 4000 size)
If you prefer Shimano, check out the Stradic 5000Fi with spare spool
or the Okuma Salina II 5000.
Drop by anytime, we'll sort you out a deal for you, as well as the lures to suit.

the 2500 i was looking at 10-12lb line class.
i do like the caldia 3000, i was also thinking of importing a Daiwa phantom in the 3000/3500 size but i cant decide on the reel.
