welcome aboard. doesnt matter how big or how much you paid for your boat as long as you can get out on the water and have some fun. certainly wouldnt have been fun out in the storm

Welcome mate. That front
Welcome mate. That front looks like enough to grab your bat and ball and head home.

cheers for the welcome.yep
cheers for the welcome.
yep headed home, but still got hammered. The jetty was underwater and getting smashed by waves. Had to bring her in on the beach. Boat was full of water. 100 km/h winds, no visibility and getting smashed by waves. was told that i had 'done well to survive, as experienced skippers would not want to be out in that storm'. At times i could only 'idle in gear', almost rolled it several times.
also i forgot all about the life jackets, so am to invest in inflatable yokes and hang them on a hook on the dash. no-way to retrieve the life-jackets from stowage in the back compartment. in fact no-one even mentioned the jackets and i only questioned myself about them on tuesday morning (???).
the storm cranked up rapidly and my focus was on maintaining control of the boat.
photos taken about 500m north of second last markers out of geraldton harbour.
bought the dinghy in april, had never even removed an outboard cowling. local shop refused to repair motor, so i learnt myself. she goes great and if anything goes wrong i will know what that problem is.
