Garmin 750s

I am looking to buy a Garmin 750s wondering if any of you guys have one and have any feedback on them good and bad. I need to know wether the sounder is any good at finding fish/structure. Also are the preloaded maps sufficient or do I need to buy maps and has anyone experienced and problems with the touch screen.

I am keen to here your thoughts as BCF currently has them for $900

I have one didn't think much of the sounder , Ihave a furuno 587 ,dont use the garmin.I use it only as a gps and have found it ok .the touch screen have not had problems with .the one thing i dont like is when you have marks close together ,it dosn't show them all until you zoom in .you could get better ,depends on how much you have to spend.

Exactly the same as Paul, good touch screen, excellent GPS for navigation, I hate how waypoints close together don't show up, and the sounder is weak but useful.

Good value for the price, but I use my furuno 587 as sounder and it is heaps better than the 750 even with the same transducer.

I dont have the 750 but i had a 540 and didnt like it . The pre-loaded maps will be useless i would assume. It really needs mapping card e.g navionics or bluechart i think is Garmin?

Not sure about it as the sounder

The map system for this unit is garmin blue chart, it is inferior to navionics or c map, with much less detail and not kept up to date, the after sales service in Australia is very poor , the u.s site wont help, basically if you have a problem THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS. It is impossible to speak to a tech rep and they don't answer emails, they don't repair sets in Australia, the units are not backed up with parts after 5 years unlike furuno , lowrance and hummingbird all of whom go out of their way to help.

I hope the sounder isn't to bad deepest water I go in is 120ft I have a furuno sounder beside it also. Will be used for navigation more than anything else.
