Furuno 587

 Hey guys,

got a furuno 587 and it has been a pain to turn on lately / sometimes dosent power up without removing and reinserting power cord. Have noticed a bit of corrosion on the head unit terminals, have sprayed them with contact cleaner but it still continues to be a problem. Anyone had this issue with sounders before? I was thinking maybe getting a small wire brush to scrub them but it's arkward to get in there.

If in doubt take it to Fremantle Marine Electronics. They are a repair agent for Furuno. They were great in helping me work through issues with mine.

Thanks for the replies guys, I used some contact cleaner and a harsh tooth brush. Seems to be working now but one of the pins definatley looks worse than the rest.
