Fortescue river launching

Those who are familiar with launching at Fortescue, what's a minimum tide to launch large trailer boats here?

Someone else besides Justin told me a while back they'd launched there heaps and if I needed to know anything call.

Fucked if I can remember who though

Have launched mine there on pretty low tide. 6.2m loaded no worries.

Retrieving though you would need some help at low tide. mid to high tide easy.

I don't know the numbers though......

Could of been me. I've done it on a dead low a couple of times. It's not the water depth that's the problem. It's the steepnsss of the ramp.

Trailer is on that much angle that the boat is floating above the trailer while trying to retrieve. And then you need a bit of a run to drag up the ramp while struggling to get the hull to settle central on the trailer.

And launching fully loaded you need to float the boat off. Easy to submerge the outboards if you aren't paying attention.
