Wow, whoopee

Thu, 2010-12-09 16:19

I'd rather watch paint dry or grass grow even cricket and I hate cricket, than watch it.

Same crap, even with a different hand on the spoon stirring it still doesn't change it.

gotta say every fishing show

Sun, 2010-12-12 18:18

gotta say every fishing show i see seems to be the same thing... dhuies, snapper, bream or kg whiting, maybe the occasional show on marlin fishing. so many different types of fishing in australia and all we see is the same old. no wonder those species are under so much pressure
not even like any new techniques or info are discussed.

that said you gotta show what averadge joe wants to watch i guess. but i wont be watching next week

FWA Series 11

Sun, 2010-12-12 19:40

I watched it and a great show with the level lifted bigtime. Marlin has been done before over the years but very limited ppl watch, however it will be filmed again next series from what Ryan's told me.

Through out the series they will be showing bait fishing (to please the many), modern artificial stuff (Ryans been doing for many years) and stuff that many people havnt done before ie deepwater species etc........all in good time.

would love to see some land

Sun, 2010-12-12 22:09

would love to see some land based game fishing on these shows one day. like you say, marlin has been done, deep water has been done, soft plastics have been done to death on one of the shows (cant remember which one but the guy is constantly yelling "STOP THE BUSS" lol drives me nuts) hell even go chasing tailor at kalbarri at least it would be something different

we have steep point etc heaps of great land based game spots yet rarely see land based game fishing (or any land based fishing) on tv here.

have been trying to get hold of the south african show ESA or something like that but havent had any luck yet.

I enjoyed the show

Sun, 2010-12-12 20:15

My only comment would be that as an example to other fisher folk the fish need to be wound in a little slower to lessen the effects of baratrouma and assist in their possible release. That wasn't particularly evident in today's show.

Sun, 2010-12-12 20:53

They were necked and put in the esky.

It's all part of fishing, and he was using 30 lb whiplash from memory in 40-50 mtrs. Not excatly skull draging is it ?

Can't please all the people all the time i suppose.

The bloody adverts kill it

Mon, 2010-12-13 12:17

The bloody adverts kill it for me, thank heaven for pay tv.

That was the first time i had watched commercial TV, since the Dockers weren't on FOX Sports Live.

Adverts every 5 mins, shit you to tears.

copy that.

Mon, 2010-12-13 12:44

totally agree man overboard, and not just the stations adverts, but also the "sub-adverts" during the show for FWA mags, dvd's, rods, etc, of which they burn up a good few precious minutes of each show.

must agree

Tue, 2010-12-14 14:46

boring as two flies crawling up the wall, too many commercials also, will not be watching the game fishing, not my favourite form of fishing at all, sorry fellas, can't see the justice in sail fish, marlin etc after 5hrs then release a exhausted fish that maybe have blood from the mouth, then get eaten by a shark or badly mauled by a shark just my opinion.

FWA

Sun, 2010-12-12 22:52

cutbad......"stop the bus" lol

Deepwater hasnt been done before and softplastics on southern demersals hasnt been done much either so relatively fresh.

To fish the coatline and cover all the different species and techniques take time and I know Ryan has future plans to cover all "but a time thing".

I spoke to Ryan this arvo and he said the FWA website was hit very hard for the Episode 1 Fact Sheet so good results for todays show for sure!!!

Thought it was a good show. People have asked about drift baiting on here before and it was all explained in that episode. Good chemistry between Lisa and Ryan aswell.

Looking forward to seeing the whole series.

Not new but that style has plenty of interest. Theres no brain surgery in Fishing TV shows, its regurgitation of some fishing techniques and species but with new stuff learnt or product advancements added in.

What a fantastic come back

Mon, 2010-12-13 21:14

What a fantastic come back for Ryan doing what he does best,Educating people. The show was on the way out in my opinion but Ryan has brought life back to FWA. Lisa and Ryan make a good show and the new comers to fishing will appreciate the information that is presented throughout. As for the more experienced fisher there is always new products and techniques to learn.

I was wondering how he went on......must be a bit of conflict of interest they promoted theyre new line of rods that are exclusive to oceanside but they just said log on to the web site to find a retailer...oceanside are it!

The "show" is sponsored by BCF and Ryan is on there to catch fish & be a presenter. Ryans other business activitys is a seperate thing and all partys are happy with the arragements so not a conflict of interest.

fishy fingers, dont know where you are looking on the FWA website but the list of FWA rod retailers (has been that way for a while) lists Oceanside Tackle and Marine and 6 (SIX) other shops....not exclusive to us   BCF have been approached re stocking the FWA rods from what Ryan told me, they are considering!!

Shorty, he doesnt buy any gear he gets everything for nothing, perks eh
