Spot going

Fri, 2006-09-08 16:23

Just spoken to Steve, still got a spot going. We will be looking to leave Woodmans point around 11 to head out when the wind drops. If you'd like a day of fishing and can't get out otherwise, let us know. Otherwise we'll just have to hog all the fish to ourselves. :)

Saturday: NE winds 13/18 knots becoming variable to 10 knots in the afternoon. Seas to 1.5m. Swell to 1.0m.

Cheers,
Adam

Great offer and I'm hanging for a fish but unfortunately can't make it tomorrow.

Skippy

Mon, 2006-09-11 10:29

If I never see a skippy again I will be happy. They were out there in plague proportions. I got one just sized pinky which I released and another small dhuie about the same size as the pinky which released well from 80m. Just skippy, skippy, and more skippy with one absolutely minature sambo, like 200 grams, and a couple of nannygai at the closer in spots. Nothing special at all. :(

You can't clean up everytime you go out, sounds like you had some fun with plenty of action.

True Poida, was a beautiful arvo to be on the water. Was calm as out there, like a milpond.

Not really

Mon, 2006-09-11 15:17

Nah, not really Jay. On the light gear they do, but fishing with big lead in 100m of water with heavy braid loses the fun. All you feel is the occasional kick, a lot of the time you think you've lost them until the surface. These skippy were very small mind you, not the 4-6/7kg range we were experiencing last year.
