fishing records

Well since there has been some good fish put up on here lately i was curious to what members have had any state or maybe even australian record captures?

Years ago i held the AAA state victorian mirror carp record, dont know if its still current, my dad also holds the vic and australian record for red cod which is like a bearded rock cod he has had that since 1988.

So do tell if you have one or was very close to one

State cray

I know the old man held the state painted cray record for a few years in the 70's.  Not sure of the exact details, he might be able to fill you in if he reads this thread.

Very early 70's and the best deals I ever did. Extracted the flesh with instruments lent by your Grandfather Adam who was the doctor in Exmouth at the time. Then used the formaldehyde (he also supplied) to stuff the shell with cotton wool, glued it back together, mounted it on a bit of board and traded it to the Truscott Club for beer where it hung on the wall for about a decade. Ended up doing a few more smaller ones and trading them to the Americans to take back when they went. I got the flesh, they got the empty shells and I got a carton or two out of them. Life was pretty good in Exmouth back in those days and from some of your images Adam it still is!
Incidentally they were what we called green crays not painted crays which we much more colourful but a lot smaller.
