Fishing Gold Coast

Is anyone here from the GC.
I will be in the gold coast for a week at Christmas and was thinking about hiring a drive yourself 6m boat to do some fishing over a few days. It would be great to get some local knowledge of where i could go to get some results, whether it be offshore pelagics, demersals or estury fishing. Feel free to PM coordinates hahaha!
Cheers

License.
You need a qld licence to drive a boat in qld . I think you can get one pretty easy but id get that sorted before you get there. They are red hot over there with checks nothing like wa your likely to get stopped every few trips. Plus its pretty out of control at boat ramps in the holidays. Cant help you with the fishin part. I was thinkin of hiring a boat when I was over there a few years ago and it was to much effert to get a license for one days boating.

Just go a Charter.
Was in the Goldie for a week and came across Fish The Deep Charters. Awesome 10m Cat and they get you onto the fish. They cater for baitos and artificially fishing. A great charter run by good blokes.

Thanks
Thanks for the info guys, sounds like a charter is the go. Was hoping to get out for a bit of an explore with my brother but sounds like the boat hire option is too much drama.
Cheers
