I was wondering if any stores has any evergreen caprice jigs in stock?
or any online stores that people buy them from ?
or should i just go with fankys?

1. I use owner regular wire

1. I use owner regular wire size 4's. I can take them off with my thumbail in a pinch, you get a heap more in a packet and they still break at 20-30kg or so (I only fish 20-30lb and they hold up fine). Otherwise hypers in 7 (possibly 8). The odd thing is that the regular wire 4's are rated to 30kg and the hyper 7s are rated to 36kg.

3. depends on which charter. I've heard Mills fish 80m+ but with Saltwater we usually fish under 30 (often 20 or 10). I've been using 1oz for most work in the 30-40s. Make sure you have some heavier one if the weathers crap or you're fishing shallower. If you're cheap or out of jigheads you can tie on a ball sinker to the front of a regular hook :p

Not quite, it hit an xrap15

Not quite, it hit an xrap15 then spat it on the first jump. Had some 600m+ of 10kg on a really light setup so woulda been awesome fun and landable if it'd stayed hooked. I've at least hooked one now though :D

Evergreen

I am looking for advice and I think this thread may help. I haven't posted before but would like some advice on the Evergreen gear. Saw this link on another WA site and noticed they have Evegreen Javelins. My question is are they any good? What is the best weight? These seem quite light at 60g and 90g. Any help would be appreciated.

yeh the 90-120 gram range is ideal for dhuies and demersals, on good weather days you may have to increase your jig weight in shit weather.
But otherwise 90-120 grams is good.
With evergreen caprice jigs most people swear by them for dhuies so the javelins would probably work as well.

Cheers

 I think Oceanside will be

I think Oceanside will be soon stocking Evergreen gear. Online you can get them from Shimreels (ebay) but colours and sizes can be limited at times.

Caprice jigs are my number one demersal jig. They are heaps better than the Fankys IMO. Look the same but the caprice have a better action.
