the sothern sand flats , always kgs herring gardies squid  just find a small sand patch inthe weed area about 3/5 m deep and u can fish the edges of the weed /sand for kgs or inthe middle of the sand for trumpeter and herring or float out the back for herring and gardies

Yeah plenty of squid about on the weed banks!

Like scottnofish said, you can get herring and squid just about anywhere in the sound. Use a bit of berley and they will show up. You can also troll or cast sml metal slices around the little or big bridges to garden island for herring and tailor.

plenty of squid around at the moment. Particularly over at Garden Is side and on Parmelia Bank at Carnac Is. Fish with the small jigs ie 3.0 and smaller.

If want you want endless herring fun get your self some berkley gulp 3 inch minnows in lime tiger with a 1/16 oz jig head. All u need to do is berly up either anchord or drifting and just cast the plastic out the back an wind it and u should get a herring every cast. Find a good spot of reefy bottom and a bit of sand and u should be right My fave Is behind tub rock u can get skippy there to

for herring take some bread out and tear small bits off and roll them up and toss them over the side. if you want them to sink roll them tight. roll some lightly so they float . if herring are around your in for some fun. even the kgs will come to. using bread wont bring too many blowies like a good berly will. If your heading out of palm beach head straight out and there is a marker bouy  marking a small reef which we pick uip herrirng and skippy a few weeks ago
