Certate Vs Stradic
Submitted by BOOMER on Sat, 2011-07-23 19:00
G`day boys
Trying to decide on a SP dermersal jigging reel capable of flicking HB around the snags up north for Barra as well
Can`t decide between the Stradic ci 4000 and certate 10 3000 ???
have used the shimano with great results and haven`t heard a bad report as yet
As for the Certate never used one so cant comment
Any input For and Against either reels will be appreciated.
Cheers Boomer

Certate for sure. Pick both
Certate for sure. Pick both of them up and you'll know why.

Just got a Certate 10 2508RH
Just got a Certate 10 2508RH from bluewater today for exactly the same duty. I love shimanos and own several but stradic not in the same class as Certate, the stradic is quite a low spec reel (but very good for the price).
If budget an issue, get the stradic, if quality the main aim, Certate.

Not really
a fair comparison, these 2 are in totally different classes. Huge difference in price, build quality, durability and capability.
If these are your 2 choices i'd be going Certate every time

Not just talking about
Not just talking about Quality. obviously the certate is upper class to the stradic it`s more about What your getting for the $$ is the extra three hundred worth it or would that extra money be better of going towards a nice rod for the stradic.

That depends if its worth it
That depends if its worth it for you and what your budget is. Some people are happy using kmart specials, some people are only happy using stellas. Like I said, play around with them in person, then you'll know whether its important to you or not.

The certate is almost double
The certate is almost double the price, and well... sometimes money speaks for itself! ... Certate with a luckycraft rod... i think so :)

Certate all the way
If funds cant quite reach go a Sol 4000
I have used both and the certate wins hands down but the Sol a close second.
I would replace the certate i lost overboard but given i have 2 Sols i'm running them into the ground before i upgrade
i do all three, jig, SP and HB

Not even in the same ballpark
Instrestingly enough the Stradic range (including Ci4's) have been discontinued from Shimano's range..... read into that what you will.
Stick with Daiwa mate, plenty in the range that are good value for money.

Just going off what i was told......
the other day at one of the local Tackle World's.
Apparently they tried to order new stock and that was the message they got, even the Ci4's production has been put to a stop.
Apparently a new Sustain Ci4 is on the way.......
