lowrance have a program built in that will flash on the screen  when you buy internationally!it was put on there to stop us importing!  i bought my sounder and gps from wmj marine in the us very good to deal with and no hassles! if you have a paypal account use it that way if the product doesnt turn up they will get your money back!!

Have a read of this thread. You will most likely have issues with a Lowrance GPS.

I bought a HDS from the US

Fri, 2010-12-03 15:35

I bought a HDS from the US eBay, works no worries, just make sure you get the one with the World Background map. Most US sellers are not allowed to sell this unit, they can only sell the ones with the US maps, nautic insight & lake insight. Pretty sure you will have the geofencing issues with these ones. There is a seller "wheelmark" on there who sells the worldwide ones, he ships them from outside the US. He also sells the aus navionics cards for the chartplotter(the World Background Map is useless). I've had no drama's with mine for the three months i've had it so far. Touchwood!

Buying OS

Fri, 2010-12-03 21:50

Buying overseas can be a bit dodgy and you gotta know who your dealing with, Lowrance have thing on all units not sold to Navico here in Australia they will only read in imperial, the backlight goes dimm with a haze of red and a waring will pop up saying this is a grey unit bla bla bla and can only get fixed by a Navico tech and cost a arm and leg so by that time it was pointless purchasing it. But at the end of the day its up to you guys but be aware that if you purchase it OS any dealer here will not support the product so back up service and even simple questions or testing is impossible. i know the $$ you save is inviting. Anyways good luck.
