Howdy all,
Im looking at getting a garmin sounder for the boat in the near future. (Leaning towards the gpsmap 1020sx). Im curious to know wether or not they have geofencing like the lowrances or not ? Or anything else like that to look out for?So i can potentially buy from the states.
Can anyone recomend a good online dealer? Be it overseas or interstate?

Keep an eye on BCF online,
Keep an eye on BCF online, every couple of months they put the 820xs and 1020xs on sale. Last time the 1020xs was on sale for $1549 whixh is a bargain. It even comes with the transducer. The only downside (if you call it that) is they only use the Blue Charts in g2 or g2 vision. Just not as much detail and no community edits.
EDIT: It is on sale at that price right now for club members. Club membership is free to join.

I don't have the garmin. I bought a Raymarine a78 and an a65 to network together as space on my helm is very limited. I have a small GPSMAP 440s that was originally fitted to the boat as a backup GPS. I have found I like the backup GPS as I seem to use my other two displays to show 3 different types of sonar images! ha ha.
Are you planning to put the 1020xs on your yak? Or are you getting something that keeps you a little bit further away from the biteys?
