Bunbury Fishing

Hi all,

Haven't been on for a while, haven't been fishing for a while...

Just want to pick a few brains on Bunbury fishing.

Will be heading down for a few days in May for a wedding, also want to wet a line down there.

So what does it have to offer shore based?

Any spots and tips for this time of year will be much appreciated.

Mike

Try fishing Buffalo Beach.

Try fishing Buffalo Beach. As you are heading to Bunbury, take the Buffalo road which is after the Binningup turn off. Follow to Buffalo beach where you can 4WD onto the beach. Tyre pressure down to 15 -20 psi should be ok. Once on the beach you can cruise and find plenty of good spots to wet your line. Herring, tailor, and Salmon in season can be caught, but night time gives you the opportunity to get into some good Mullaway.

Inner Harbour

You could go to the Inner harbour, take your flickrod and clean up on school mulloway to 65cm ( always get heaps there ) Good size black bream, tailor and if you put on a live tailor on a heavier outfit, it usually gets smashed by big mulloway.

And if you want to get mulloway on a lure, i suggest glow-in-the-dark soft 5''&7'' gulps & powerbaits plastics, they often get smashed quickly.

if using bait, whitebait on a gang is the way to go.

I fished the cut 2 weeks

I fished the cut 2 weeks ago, and although nothing bar blowies were biting i managed an Occy on a mouldy cheese Gulp. Gotta be quick with those blowies, they kept biting the tails off the plastics.
