Vic Park opposite Skippers car yard
went yesterday - got 20% off all reels including stellas - SW Lab sambo jigs $10 were $20- plenty of reasonable rods like Berkely dropshot 7ft, $50 not topshelf but still good for around the river/squidding. Depends what your after - some terminal tackle bargains if u know what u are after.

Agreed
Been down there today and i agree that the sale is not too bad. Some people might say that the price is marked up so that you think you're getting a big discount, and that is perhaps true, BUT in the end, the discounted price is still pretty much cheaper than what you can usually find. In essence, it still IS cheaper than standard retail prices. Better to have a some sort of discount than none at all, don't ya reckon? And yeah they don't stock too many high end products in there, but there's still some pretty decent equipment.

Went down Vic park tackle
Went down Vic park tackle shop yesterday and seems to have some great stock for sale.
i picked up a plueger supreme over head jig rod for $259.00 and the asking price was $369.00. Any body know how much those rods go for normal price? I thought it was a good buy at the time to match my torium 20

I know Tim and Mako both use the 200 model and swear by them. From what they were saying they think the 300 would be overkill size wise. And I beleive the 200 still has 30lb of drag pressure as well.

They are nice
I must say they are nice reels though the torque's. If I didnt have a preference to lever drag reels I would have bought one, especially for what you get for the price. And they are like minny winches.

Lever drag version
Lever drag version would be great Gully! Never been a star drag fan as I always fear overtensioning spool during use.

Yeah have a look on the penn
Yeah have a look on the penn website and check it out - looks bloody awesome mate!
http://www.pennreels.com/01_products/reels/conventional/11_torqueld/torqueLD300.htm
Mind you I actually dont mind the old star drag reels - kind of gotten use to them over the years and never had a problem with them. However I know most people do prefer the lever drags - and now they can have one of these in LD aswell

Torsa / Torque
a real life Torsa / Torque comparison would be great , I have used plenty of Torsa's 16 / 20 & 30 but unfortunately havn't had a go of a Torque yet , love my Saltist but it could do with a bit more drag pressure .
Recon I'll be seeing a few Torques this season so I'll be able to make up my own mind by seasons end .
