I know i'm beating a dead drum but------ isn't amazing that the only part of warnbro sound that isn't a marine park is where they put the port kennedy boat ramp in?
If they can do it for tat ramp why not a new one at safety bay? our council is full of crap and not working for the rate payers of the area. Screw em.

what ramp ?
not sure if true but heard they have spent 18million dollars on bent st. ramp , had surveyours there for many months working out where the sand was coming from , and this is what we ended up with ,the pond cannot survive with stagnant water , fish will die in summer and then their will be further backlash , all started to go wrong once they abandoned dredging in favour of excavating ....
needed rock groin leading up to deeper water .seems they cannot use this sand and goes to land fill , hence they have buried there head in that same sand and now pretending / not wanting to take responsibility for their incompitance ..... imagine the back lash if that was a listed company , or a private company. council is wanting state gov. to pay .... car park is being used by coffee place across the road , hence their re vamping / expansion .

The huge dramas
Started when they pumped all the sand to pengo . They need to move ramp closer to pengo . The pond is going to stink this year. All houses on beach front will get a lovely stench when temps increase and freo doctor comes in.

So much sand has moved from
So much sand has moved from the bay inside Bird Island where the holiday houses used to be. There would have been 50m of dune then beach from where the back door of the houses were and now the erosion is half way through where the house foundations were.
I doubt that the sand has made it around the cape peron and point john formations so assume it moved south

Don't they mine sand at pt
Don't they mine sand at pt peron? I suppose the sand isn't good enough safety bay side.
I remember when they had to dig out sand from penguin island jetty cause the ferry couldnt in. Ferry used to sit there to try and clear it with the Motors in gear while tied off to the jetty.
Gotta find a way to work with nature or you will be beaten!

I thought the sand in the ramp was from the beach between Point John and the ramp?
I remember playing in the small caves /overhangs along the beach behind the small dune when i was little....now the water goes up to the caves.
