Another silly question. Why are Fisheries doing speed checks on boats? I would have thought that would be something the water police or dept of transport would do.

Probably stupid question,
Probably stupid question, but I am not a boat owner. How do you estimate your speed with no speedo on board? For example in a dinghy.

On the recent Carnarfin comp they had the radar gun out at 0600 in the morning catching boats on the way out down the channel.
To get a rough idea of your speed in a dinghy if you are on the plane you are going too fast.
