As far as i know only one bag limit, two bag limits if you stay over at islands such as monties or abrolohs.

Presumably rotto as well
Presumably rotto as well Paul? In the regs it says the stay must be for a min of 5 hours and pass midnight which would cut fishing time a bit for an overnighter.
As far as I understand, if staying overnight, you can have two bag limits (reg book says fillets of any size which is odd). However, as the dhufish limit is a boat limit, even if you legally stayed overnight on an island, could they still claim that the boat limit of 2 still applies (as it is a boat limit, not a personal possession limit?). A little confusing. Makes you wonder if it was something they forgot about anyways (and then its in limbo with no clear rules, but even then, I guess they can still claim which way they like?)

I'm jealous you have to
I'm jealous you have to worry about it at all. I just found a chart on the Fisheries site saying Blue Manner crabs - 20 per person/40 per boat. They need to get their shite together and delete all the old/supersceded charts and rules and stuff.
The fisheries officer probably didn't find out at all. He probably couldn't get an answer so he just took the safer option and told you 1 days limit.
I fish for the future - Cause I can't bloody catch anything!

hlokk is on the money, and
hlokk is on the money, and it is quite clear when read on the web site
the boat limit remains at 2 dhufish on a REC boat at any time... no matter how long you are at sea... however, all the other fish have a DAILY bag limit... and to quote the fisheries website....

daily bag limits (frma s50)
the maximum number of fish of a species, or a group of species, that a person engaged in fishing may take or bring to land in any 24 hr period commencing at midnight ( except for marron , prawns and fish caught by netting- midday to midday) these are shown in the 'bag and size limits' section.
