Avet MXJ Series Lever Drag Reels

im thinking of buying one of these reels
for light bottom bashing.
but my only concern is, how do i get an even spread of line on the reel when retrieving line?
could anyone please explain on how i get it even.

yep use your thumb
it is easier with a bit of weight on the line. It might also help by not filling the spool up to much when you start incase it starts bunching up on you a bit!!

Line lay
The MXJ is fairly narrow spool reel so line lay shouldnt be too much of concern. You probably need to lay line when you're just winding the rig up, without the fish.
